Deisy Suarez-Giles, born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and raised in New York after immigrating at age eight, discovered her passion for beauty and wellness early. By the age of 12, she was crafting homemade scrubs, offering treatments to neighbors and friends, and gaining hands-on experience working in small independent salons.

Her professional training began in 2003 at the Learning Institute of Beauty Science (LIBS) in New York City, where she earned certifications in special effects makeup, TV and commercial makeup, and editorial artistry. Deisy went on to work as a makeup artist on film sets, independent productions, photo shoots, and major New York fashion events—including shows at Bryant Park for designers such as Calvin Klein, Liz Claiborne, and others.

Expanding her expertise, Deisy became a licensed esthetician and certified massage therapist through Marinello School of Beauty and the National Holistic Institute. She also holds a Bachelor's in Marketing from UTESA. In 2016, she further advanced her education by earning a professional certificate in Spa and Hospitality Management from the University of California, Irvine’s Division of Continuing Education.

In 2004, she launched Desuar Cosmetics, and in 2010 opened her first DESUAR Spa in Los Angeles. Over time, she expanded the brand into multiple spa locations across California. Her commitment to growth continued with advanced certifications in skin analysis, massage, hospitality operations, and entrepreneurship, culminating in her completion of the LBAN Business Scaling Program at Stanford Graduate School of Business in Spring 2024.

DESUAR Spa has been recognized for excellence, earning Best Spa for six consecutive years by Downtown News—a testament to Deisy’s vision, leadership, and dedication to creating transformative wellness experiences.
